磯崎新：群島としての建築③（水戸芸術館） Arata Isozaki: Archipelagos of Architecture Part-3 (Art Tower Mito)

続いての展示では、国際舞台における磯崎の活躍に焦点が当たっていた。

1993年に中国の珠海市からの依頼で始まった海市計画の展示は、大きなスペースを占めていた。

その計画は、のちに、東京オペラシティにあるNTTインテーコミュニケーション・センターで展覧会が行われた。

また、ルツェルン・フェスティバルのために設計されたアーク・ノヴァ。

アーティストのアニッシュ・カプーアとの協同作業となった、空気で膨らます特設のコンサート・ホールで、今年のルツェルン・フェスティバルでも、このホールは登場した。

アーバンデザイナーとして、また他の分野のアーティストの協働など、磯崎新の建築家という枠を超えた、幅広い活躍を実感できる展示だった。

The next exhibit focused on Isozaki's work on the international stage.

A large section of the exhibit was devoted to his plan for the Ocean City, which began in 1993 at the request of the Chinese city of Zhuhai.

The plan was later exhibited at the NTT InterCommunication Center in Tokyo Opera City.

Also featured was Ark Nova, designed for the Lucerne Festival.

This special inflatable concert hall, created in collaboration with artist Anish Kapoor, also made an appearance at this year's Lucerne Festival.

The exhibit gave a real glimpse into the wide-ranging scope of Isozaki's work, which goes beyond the scope of his work as an architect, including his work as an urban designer and his collaborations with artists in other fields.
