スティグ・リンドベリ展（日本橋高島屋） STIG LINDBERG (Nihonbashi Takashimaya)

日本橋高島屋では、北欧デザインの展覧会たびたび行われてきた。

アアルト展、北欧の灯り展やイス展などなど。

今回は、スウェーデンのスティグ・リンドベリに焦点を当てた展覧会。

アアルトやヤコブセン、同じスウェーデンのリサ・ラーソンなどに比べるとやや知名度は劣るかもしれないが、そのテーブルウェアは、誰もが一度は目にしたことがあるはずだ。

植物の葉や、木の実など、シンプルな造形が、色鮮やかに描かれた器やコップ。そうした食器で食事をすれば、それは楽しい食卓になるに違いない。

リンドベリは、大量生産でなく、一点ものの作品にこだわりがあった。

リンドベリ自身が筆を取って描いた、カラフルなファイアンスを見ると、画家としてのリンドベリの姿も見えてくる。

同様に、デザイン性にあふれたフィギュアや、テキスタイルなどもあり、リンドベリはデザイナーでもありアーティストでもあったことがわかる。

最後のコーナーでは、リンドベリは日本を訪れた際にインスピレーションを得て制作されたという作品も展示されていた。

Nihonbashi Takashimaya has frequently held exhibitions of Nordic design.

Exhibitions include Aalto, Nordic Light, and Chairs.

This time, the exhibition focuses on Swedish designer Stig Lindberg.

He may be less well-known than Aalto, Jacobsen, or fellow Swede Lisa Larson, but his tableware is surely familiar to everyone.

His bowls and cups are brightly painted with simple shapes like plant leaves and nuts. Dining on such tableware is sure to be a delightful experience.

Lindberg was particular about creating one-of-a-kind pieces rather than mass-produced items.

Looking at the colorful faience pieces painted by Lindberg himself, we can also see Lindberg as a painter.

Similarly, there are also stylish figurines and textiles, demonstrating that Lindberg was both a designer and an artist.

In the final section, Lindberg also exhibited works that he created inspired by his visit to Japan.
