唐絵（根津美術館） Kara-e (Nezu Museum)

 

宋元、明時代の中国の水墨画と、その影響を受けた日本の室町時代の水墨画を展示した展覧会。

中国の水墨画では、牧谿や馬遠など、国宝や重要文化財を含んだ、数多くのこの美術館の名品が展示された。

観光客だろうか。多くの中国あるいは台湾の人々が、会場を訪れていたが、彼らはこうした水墨画をどのような視点で鑑賞しているのだろうか？

印象に残ったのは、日本の水墨画の方だった。

雪村の龍虎図屏風は、以前にもこの美術館で目にしたことがある。

右隻には龍が、左隻には虎が描かれている。

虎の巻き起こす激しい風が、虎の周囲の竹藪を激しく揺さぶっているのだが、その表現が、まるで時空が歪んでいるように描かれている。

つい最近見た、アインシュタインの一般相対性理論をテーマにしたテレビ番組のことを思い出してしまった。

良祐という絵師の仙女図。草で作った服を着て、薬草を入れた籠を抱えた、仙女を描いている。

同じ構図の絵画は他にもあるようだが、何となく、日本神話の木花咲耶姫のことを連想した。

This exhibition featured Chinese ink paintings from the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties, as well as Japanese ink paintings from the Muromachi period that were influenced by them.

The Chinese ink paintings on display included many of the museum's masterpieces, including works by Muxi and Ma Yuan, which are designated national treasures and important cultural properties.

Tourists? Many Chinese and Taiwanese people were visiting the exhibition. How do they view these ink paintings?

It was the Japanese ink paintings that made the biggest impression on me.

I'd seen Sesson's Dragon and Tiger folding screen at this museum before.

The right panel features a dragon, and the left a tiger.

The fierce winds stirred up by the tiger violently shake the bamboo grove around the tiger, depicted in a way that makes it seem as if space-time is distorted.

It reminded me of a TV program I recently saw on the subject of Einstein's general theory of relativity.

A painting of a fairy by an artist named Ryosuke. It depicts a fairy wearing clothes made of grass and holding a basket full of medicinal herbs.

There seem to be other paintings with the same composition, but somehow it reminded me of Konohanasakuyahime from Japanese mythology.
