動物と人間のあいだ（生活工房） PART OF ANIMAL (Lifestyle Design Center)

 

人間と動物の関係について、文化や科学、アートなどの様々な側面から取り上げたユニークな展覧会だった。

動物を食べてきた人類は、かつてはそれを与えてくれた神や、殺す対象の動物に対して感謝を捧げてきた。

鹿や獅子などの力にあやかって、それらを真似て踊ったり、祭の中に取り込んできた。

科学の時代になると、動物を観察したり、その死体を剥製としたり、動物のことを知ろうとしてきた。

現在では、生活の場を奪われて、食べ物に困ったクマが、人を襲うというニュースもよく聞く。

アートの世界でも、可愛い存在として、あるいは自然や神の象徴として動物を描いてきた。

動物というテーマに対して、学問の世界と人々の暮らしとが、アートという媒介を通してつながっていくように感じられた展覧会だった。

This was a unique exhibition that looked at the relationship between humans and animals from various angles, including culture, science, and art.

Humans, who have eaten animals, have given thanks to the gods who provided them and to the animals they killed.

People imitated the power of animals such as deer and lions, and incorporated them into festivals.

In the age of science, people tried to learn more about animals by observing them and stuffing their carcasses.

Nowadays, we often hear news of bears attacking people because they have lost their habitat and are struggling for food.

In the world of art, animals have also been depicted as cute creatures or as symbols of nature and gods.

This exhibition felt like a connection between the academic world and people's lives through the medium of art, with the theme of animals.
