平泉から鎌倉へ（鎌倉歴史文化交流館） Hiraizumi to Kamakura (Kamakura Museum of History and Culture)

今年初めてとなった鎌倉行。

通常は、日曜日に行くことが多いが、今回は土曜日に。その理由はいつも決まっている。日曜日が休館である鎌倉歴史文化交流館で見たい展示がある場合は、土曜日になる。

今回は、平泉と鎌倉の関係をテーマにした企画展だった。

前九年の役や後三年の役、鎌倉の奥州征伐の様子を描いた絵巻者。毛越寺や無量光寺跡から出土した瓦や器、藤原清衡らが作らせた紺地金字一切経の複製など、当時を忍ばせる展示品が並んでいた。

南宋時代の白磁の破片も展示されていた。当時の平泉が、海外とも関係を持っていたことが伺える。

奥州藤原氏には、昔から興味があり、平泉は、その名前を聞いただけで様々な感情が湧き起こってくる。

平泉を訪れたのは一度だけで、もう20年以上前になるが、その記憶は今でも鮮明に残っている。

当時は、まだ毛越寺や無量光寺跡もそれほど整備されておらず、古さびた雰囲気が、歴史のロマンをより感じさせた。

最後のコーナーでは、源頼朝が平泉で見た寺院に感動して、鎌倉の地に建てたという永福寺についての展示もあった。

源頼朝は、本当にそうした気持ちで永福寺を作ったのか、あるいは、単に奥州藤原氏に対抗したい気持ちもあったのではないだろうか。

This was my first trip to Kamakura this year.

I usually go on Sundays, but this time I went on Saturday. There is always a reason for this. If there is an exhibition I want to see at the Kamakura Museum of History and Culture, which is closed on Sundays, I will go on Saturday.

This time, the exhibition was themed on the relationship between Hiraizumi and Kamakura.

Picture scrolls depicting the Battle of Zenkunen, the Battle of Gosannen, and Kamakura's conquest of Oshu. There were exhibits that reminded me of those times, such as tiles and vessels excavated from the remains of Motsu-ji and Muryoko-ji temples, and a copy of the Sutra with gold letters on a dark blue background that was commissioned by Fujiwara no Kiyohira and others.

Fragments of white porcelain from the Southern Song Dynasty were also on display. It shows that Hiraizumi at that time had connections with overseas countries.

I have always been interested in the Oshu Fujiwara clan, and just hearing the name Hiraizumi brings up various emotions.

I have only visited Hiraizumi once, more than 20 years ago, but my memories of it are still vivid.

At the time, Motsu-ji Temple and the ruins of Muryoko-ji Temple were not yet well maintained, and their old, rustic atmosphere added to the romantic feeling of history.

In the final corner, there was an exhibit about Eifuku-ji Temple, which Minamoto no Yoritomo built in Kamakura after being inspired by the temple he saw in Hiraizumi.

Did Minamoto no Yoritomo really have these feelings when he built Eifuku-ji Temple, or was he simply hoping to rival the Fujiwara clan of Oshu?
