重力と素材のための図鑑（神奈川県立近代美術館 鎌倉別館） An Illustrated Guide for Gravity and Materials (KAMAKURA ANNEX)

神奈川県立近代美術館の日本古典美術のコレクションと、現代アーティストの岩竹理恵と片岡純也のユニットの作品を、組み合わせて展示した展覧会。

鎌倉時代の曼荼羅や、江戸時代の浮世絵や大津絵などと、現代アートが並べて展示される風景は、あまり違和感はない。

世の中が、そうした展示に慣れてきたということもあるのだろう。

岩竹理恵の、古い生物図鑑や人体図と、切手などの切り抜きを重ねた作品は、とりわけ目を引いた。

科学とアートを結びつけることで、世界を見るための新たな視点を持とうとする試みは、最近の大きな潮流になっているように感じるが、岩竹理恵の作品からも、同じ視点を感じた。

片岡純也のキネティック・アート作品は、とても繊細な感覚の作品が多く、また、そこはかとないユーモアも感じられた。

This exhibition combined the collection of Japanese classical art from the Museum of Modern Art, Kanagawa and the work of the contemporary artist duo Iwatake Rie and Kataoka Junya.

It doesn't feel out of place to see contemporary art side by side with Kamakura mandalas, Edo ukiyo-e and Otsu-e.

Perhaps it's because the world has become accustomed to such displays.

Iwatake Rie's work, which layered old biological encyclopedias and diagrams of the human body with stamps and other cutouts, was particularly eye-catching.

It seems that attempts to find new perspectives on the world by combining science and art have become a major trend recently, and I felt the same perspective in Iwatake Rie's work.

Kataoka Junya's kinetic art works are often very delicate and have a subtle sense of humor.
