吉村靖孝展 マンガアーキテクチャ――建築家の不在（ギャラリー間） Yasutaka Yoshimura:MANGARCHITECTURE――Absence of an Architect (TOTO Gallery MA)

建築の展覧会と言えば、設計図や構想のスケッチやメモ、工事中や完成した建物の写真や映像、その模型など、が展示されることが多い、

この展覧会では、吉村靖孝の7つプロジェクトと、それぞれのプロジェクトをテーマにして新たに7人の漫画家が制作したマンガを展示する、というユニークな企画だった。

写真や映像は、その建築をダイレクトに見るものに伝える。

マンガには、ストーリーと登場人物のキャラクターがあり、建築そのものよりも、その建築がどのような背景に位置つけられるのか、そこに住むあるいは利用する人々が、そのような思いを抱いているのかが描かれる。

吉村は、自らのプロジェクトでは、自分の建築で人々にどのように振る舞うかや、社会との関係などに、大きな関心を抱く建築家であったとのこと。

漫画家に自分の建築を描いてもらうことで、建築家を”不在”にして、そのプロジェクトを紹介することを意図したようだ。

建築とマンガという、これまであまり結び付かなかった領域の今後の多様な可能性が感じられた展覧会だった。

When it comes to architecture exhibitions, blueprints, sketches and notes, photos and videos of buildings under construction and completed, and models are often displayed.

This exhibition was a unique project that displayed seven of Yoshimura Yasutaka's projects and manga created by seven manga artists based on each project.

The photos and videos directly convey the architecture to the viewer.

The manga has a story and characters, and depicts the background in which the architecture is positioned and the feelings of the people who live there or use it, rather than the architecture itself.

Yoshimura was an architect who was very interested in how people behave in his own projects and their relationship with society.

By having manga artists draw his architecture, it seems that he intended to introduce the project without the architect being "absent".

This exhibition made me feel the diverse future possibilities of architecture and manga, which have not been linked much until now.
