広く活躍する主要な写真家の、過去と現在の作品を紹介する、東京都写真美術館のコレクション展。
石内都の作品は、広島の平和記念資料館に収蔵されている、被爆者の遺品を撮影したもの。
何度も目にしてきた作品だが、目のするたびに、それは写真以上の存在としてこちらに迫ってくる。
2008年に宮城に移住して、2011年の東日本大震災で被災した志賀理江子の作品からは、どうしても震災の記憶が滲み出ている。
志賀の作品は、いつも、被写体と志賀とのダイアローグになっている。
これまで目にしていたのかもしれないが、金村修という名前は、この展覧会で初めて”認知”した。
一手間加えたモノクロの都市の写真や、パステル色のコラージュ作品が、とても印象に残った。
同じ苗字であることと、広島をテーマにしていることから、目を引かれた藤岡亜弥。
広島市内に暮らし、2018年以降の原爆投下の日の様子を撮影し続けているシリーズは、どれもスナップ・ショットだが、確実のその時々の様子を記録している。
最後は、川田喜久治。原爆の黒い雨、ドイツのノイシュヴァンシュタイン城、新型コロナ流行時のマスク姿など。
川田の作品は、写真の中の静止した世界から、見る者の中で確実にあるストーリーが始まる。
This exhibition from the collection of the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum introduces past and present works by leading photographers active across a wide range of fields.
Ishiuchi Miyako's works are photographs of the belongings of atomic bomb survivors housed at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.
I have seen these works many times, but each time I look at them, they approach me as something more than photographs.
Shiga Rieko, who moved to Miyagi in 2008 and was affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, inevitably exudes memories of the disaster through her work.
Shiga's works always form a dialogue between herself and her subjects.
I may have seen her works before, but this exhibition was the first time I "recognized" the name Kanemura Osamu.
His elaborate monochrome city photographs and pastel collages left a strong impression.
Fujioka Aya caught my eye because we share the same surname and her work is themed around Hiroshima.
Living in Hiroshima, Kawada has been photographing the days of the atomic bomb since 2018 in this series. Each shot is a snapshot, but they clearly record the events of that time.
Our final work is by Kikuji Kawada. Images include the black rain from the atomic bomb, Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, and wearing a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Kawada's works, a story undoubtedly begins in the viewer's mind, starting from the still world of the photograph.
