アンセルム・キーファー ソラリス（二条城） Anselm Kiefer: Solaris (Nijyo Castle Kyoto)

 

キーファー展が、京都の二条城で開催されると知った昨年から、とても楽しみしていた。

キーファーのことを知ったのは、1993年に今はなき池袋のセゾン美術館で見た展覧会でだった。

何だか、暗いテーマの作品が多く、陰鬱な印象が残ったことをよく覚えている。

現在は軽井沢にあるセゾン美術館には、その時に展示された”革命の女たち”が展示されている。そこで何度か見たせいもあるだろうが、一番記憶に残っている作品だ。

その後、ノルウェーのアストルップ・ファーンリー美術館や、ニューヨークのMETブロイヤー、パリのポンピドゥセンターなど、海外の各地の現代美術館で、何度かキーファーの作品は目にしてきたが、まとまった数の作品を目にするには、本当に久しぶりだった。

とにかく、二条城という会場がいい。

キーファーは、このところ、ヴェネツィアのドッジ宮殿や、フィレンツェのストロッツィ宮殿などで、それぞれ違ったテーマの展覧会を行なっている。

キーファーは、日本の城の屏風によく描かれている金箔の屏風画にインスピレーションを受けて、自分の作品にも取り入れているという。

3つの”アンセルムここにあり”や、2つの”ライン川”には、金がふんだんに使われている。

展示スペースは、二の丸御殿台所・御清所、といういわば”裏方の人々”のための場所だったので、もし二条城の二の丸御殿の狩野派の金の屏風絵と並べて展示されたら、それはより壮観であっただろう。

”弓理論”や”ボソン開放弦”などは最新の科学理論をもとに作られた作品だろう。

その前に展示されていた、”プトレマイオス”や”マアト=アニ”などの女性像（？）は、白いドレスをまとっている。

かつてセゾン美術館で見た、ダークなキーファーはそこにはなかった。

I have been looking forward to the Kiefer exhibition since I found out last year that it would be held at Nijo Castle in Kyoto.

I first learned about Kiefer in 1993 at an exhibition I saw at the now-defunct Sezon Museum of Art in Ikebukuro.

I remember that there were many dark-themed works, and I was left with a gloomy impression.

The Sezon Museum of Art in Karuizawa is currently exhibiting "Women of the Revolution," which was exhibited at that time. It is the work that I remember the most, probably because I have seen it there several times.

Since then, I have seen Kiefer's works several times at contemporary art museums around the world, such as the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Art in Norway, the MET Breuer in New York, and the Pompidou Center in Paris, but it has been a really long time since I have seen a large number of his works.

Anyway, Nijo Castle is a great venue.

Recently, Kiefer has been holding exhibitions with different themes at Palazzo Dodge in Venice and Palazzo Strozzi in Florence.

Kiefer is said to have been inspired by the gold leaf folding screens often found in Japanese castles, and to incorporate them into his own work.

Gold is used lavishly in the three "Anselm Is Here" and two "Rhine".

The exhibition space was the Ninomaru Palace Kitchen and Okiyodokoro, a place for "backstage people", so it would have been even more spectacular if it had been exhibited alongside the gold folding screen paintings of the Kano school in the Ninomaru Palace of Nijo Castle.

"Bow Theory" and "Boson Open String" are works based on the latest scientific theories.

The female figures (?) such as "Ptolemy" and "Ma'at-Ani" that were exhibited before that were wearing white dresses.

The dark Kiefer I had seen at the Sezon Museum of Art was not there.
