東野芳明と戦後美術（富山県美術館） Tono Yoshiaki and Postwar Art (Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design)

東野芳明という美術評論家のことは、ある程度には知っていた。

東野は、若い時に書いたパウル・クレーについての評論が瀧口修造らに評価されて、美術評論家としてスタートを切った。

瀧口修造はこの富山県美術館に所縁が深く、東野自身も美術館のコレクション収集に大きな役割を果たしたということから、今回の展覧会が企画されたようだ。

それにしても、およそ70人ほどのアーティストの作品が展示されていて、文字通り、国内外を通じてポストウォーのアートの流れを外観するような内容で、充実していた。

その作品のほとんどは、この富山県美術館の収蔵作品であり、ある意味で、東野という人物にちなんだ、大規模なコレクション展、と総括できるかもしれない。

パウル・クレーに始まり、駒井哲郎、マックス・エルンスト、ダリ、ミシェル・タピエス、ルーチョ・フォンターナ、荒川修作、横尾忠則、アンディ・ウォーホル、クリスト、フランク・ステラ、斎藤善重、などなど。

サム・フランシスやジャスパー・ジョーンズとは交友関係もあり、その様子が写真や記録文書などにより紹介されていた。

会場のあちこちには、東野の著作が置かれて、自由に読めるようになっていた。残念ながら、その本のほとんどは、今は書店では手に入れることができない。

マルセル・デュシャンについては、東野も1冊の本を書いたほど重視していたようで、展示も1つの章が割かれていた。

企画展にも何点か展示されていたが、見終わった後で常設展示の瀧口修造のコレクション・ルームを訪ねて、他にも瀧口修造のデカルコマニーなどの作品を見ることができた。

I knew a certain amount about the art critic Yoshiaki Tono.

Tono started his career as an art critic after his critique of Paul Klee, written in his youth, was highly praised by Shuzo Takiguchi and others.

Shuzo Takiguchi has a deep connection with the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art, and Tono himself played a major role in collecting the museum's collection, which is why this exhibition was planned.

In any case, the exhibition featured works by about 70 artists, and was rich in content that literally provided an overview of post-war art trends both in Japan and abroad.

Most of the works were from the collection of the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art, and in a sense, it could be summarized as a large-scale collection exhibition named after the person Tono.

Starting with Paul Klee, there were Tetsuro Komai, Max Ernst, Dali, Michel Tapies, Lucio Fontana, Shusaku Arakawa, Tadanori Yokoo, Andy Warhol, Christo, Frank Stella, Yoshishige Saito, and many more.

He was also friends with Sam Francis and Jasper Jones, and their friendship was introduced through photographs and documents.

Tono's books were available for free reading throughout the venue. Unfortunately, most of these books are no longer available in bookstores.

Tono also placed great importance on Marcel Duchamp, to the extent that he wrote a book about him, and a chapter was devoted to him in the exhibition.

Several of his works were on display in the special exhibition, but after viewing them, I visited the permanent exhibition room for Shuzo Takiguchi's collection, where I was able to see other works by Shuzo Takiguchi, including Decalcomanie.
