毛利悠子 ピュシスについて（アーティゾン美術館） Mohri Yuko - On Physis (Artizon Museum)

今年、最初に訪れた展覧会は、アーティゾン美術館で行われた毛利悠子の展覧会だった。

毛利悠子の作品を初めて目にしたのは、ヨコハマトリエンナーレ2014だったろうか。

念密に設計されて制作された作品で、とても繊細な印象を受けたが、それでいて、学園祭の延長のような、身近な印象も感じて、とても記憶に残っている。

その後も、グループ展などで時折、目にしてきた。

最近では、2023年に行われた坂本龍一トリビュート展で、ピアノをテーマにした作品が展示会場の中央に展示されて、印象的だった。

実は、初めはこのアーティゾン美術館の展覧会は、スキップしようと思っていた。

しかし、ネット記事で目にした、本人のこの展覧会についてもインタビューを読んで、特に”ピュシス”というこの展覧会のテーマについて語っていた部分が気になり、足を運んでみようと思った。

美術館の5階のフロアいっぱいを使って、その展示が行われていた。

そこは、さながら、毛利による”ピュシス（自然あるいは本性）”を究明するための、実験室のようだった。

その実験のための素材には、パウル・クレー、マルセル・デュシャン、クロード・モネ、アンリ・マチス、ジョゼフ・コーネルなどの作品が、準備されていた。

古代ギリシャの哲学者たちの探求の対象は、ピュシスそのものであり、彼らは自然哲学者だった。その後、科学者たちによって自然の究明が進み、現在では哲学者たちの領域は限られたものになっている。

毛利の作品を見ていくと、ピュシスについてこれまでとは違ったやり方で、改めて解き明かしていこうとしている試みのように感じられた。

The first exhibition I visited this year was Yuko Mohri's exhibition at the Artizon Museum.

I think I first saw Yuko Mohri's work at the Yokohama Triennale 2014.

The works were meticulously designed and produced, and I was impressed by their delicate nature, but at the same time, they also had a familiar impression, like an extension of a school festival, and they are very memorable.

Since then, I have occasionally seen her works at group exhibitions.

Recently, at the Ryuichi Sakamoto Tribute Exhibition held in 2023, her piano-themed work was exhibited in the center of the exhibition hall, which was very impressive.

Actually, at first, I was planning to skip this exhibition at the Artizon Museum.

However, after reading an interview with her about this exhibition in an online article, I was particularly interested in the part where she talked about the theme of the exhibition, "Physis," and decided to go and see it.

The exhibition took up the entire fifth floor of the museum.

The place was like a laboratory for Mohri's investigation of "physis (nature or true nature)."

Materials prepared for the experiment included works by Paul Klee, Marcel Duchamp, Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, Joseph Cornell, and others.

The subject of the ancient Greek philosophers' investigation was physis itself, and they were natural philosophers. Later, scientists advanced the investigation of nature, and today the field of philosophers has become limited.

Looking at Mohri's work, it felt like an attempt to re-examine physis in a different way than before.
