三島由紀夫 生誕100年祭（日本近代文学館） Yukio Mishima - 100th Anniversary of Birth (The Museum of Modern Japanese Literature)

1970年の市川駐屯地での衝撃的な割腹自決からおよそ54年。駒場の日本近代文学館で、生誕100周年を祝う記念展が開かれた。

会場は、ミニマニア　三島愛、ビブリオマニア　書物愛、ヤポノマニア　日本愛、という3つのパートに構成されていた。

歌舞伎役者の坂東玉三郎を賞賛する文章、病院生活を送る大学の先輩への手紙、澁澤龍彦の三島との交流を記した文章など、三島と様々な分野の人々との交流が、印象的だった。

自決の前に自衛隊員を前にして語った檄文の文章が全文展示されていた。

人々との心温かく時にユーモアも溢れる手紙や書簡と、当時の状況に対する心からの苛立ちと怒りに満ちた檄文とのそのギャップの大きさが、この三島由紀夫という人物のことをよく表しているように感じた。

It has been around 54 years since his shocking suicide by disembowelment at the Ichikawa Garrison in 1970. A commemorative exhibition was held at the Museum of Modern Japanese Literature in Komaba to celebrate his 100th birthday.

The exhibition was divided into three parts: Minimania - Love of Mishima, Bibliomania - Love of Books, and Yaponomania - Love of Japan.

Mishima's interactions with people from various fields were impressive, including a letter praising the kabuki actor Bando Tamasaburo, a letter to a university senior living in a hospital, and a letter from Shibusawa Tatsuhiko about his interactions with Mishima.

The full text of the manifesto he spoke to members of the Self-Defense Forces before his suicide was on display.

The huge gap between his letters and correspondence with people, which are heartwarming and sometimes humorous, and his manifesto, which is filled with genuine frustration and anger at the situation at the time, seems to represent the person Yukio Mishima very well.
